Competitive Figure Skating Program and Private Lessons

Our competitive Figure Skating Program is designed for skaters who are ready to take their skating to the next level from our Learn to Skate Program and our Rocky Mountain Figure Skating Academy.

The skater will skate on freestyle sessions that are specific for their skating level and they will also be taking private lessons from one of our professional skating instructors. To meet our staff coaches, please visit the link at the bottom of the page.

The Ice Centre offers an extensive schedule of freestyle sessions that can accommodate beginner skaters new to our competitive program all the way up to national level skaters.

  • We will be offering level based sessions as well as the more open level sessions and there will be both 45 minute and 60 minute session lengths to choose from.
  • All skaters must register for the available figure skating sessions online.

The Rocky Mountain Figure Skating Club

The Rocky Mountain Figure Skating Club (RMFSC) is a volunteer run organization established in 1978 as a member club within the United States Figure Skating Association.

The USFSA provides guidelines and rules for testing and competitions which promote figure skating from the beginner level through Olympic competitors. When skaters reach the point where they are ready to begin taking their USFSA tests, it is necessary for them to become a member of the USFSA. The Rocky Mountain Figure Skating Club is the home club representing the USFSA here at the Ice Centre at the Promenade. Club functions include monthly test sessions, competition events, assisting members in their skating progress and an annual ice show.
