Competitive Figure Skating Program and Private Lessons Schedule Information

The Ice Centre is offering a figure skating schedule that we feel will accommodate all of our figure skaters.

We have level based sessions as well as the more open level sessions and there will be both 45 minute and 60 minute session lengths. Please see our current figure skating schedule below to see all the available figure skating sessions.  The cost for a 45-minute session is $10.25 and a 60-minute session is $12.75.

All skaters will register for the available sessions online.

All skaters must have their own figure skates and be in figure skating attire.

For the safety of all of our skaters, we ask that skaters follow a freestyle traffic pattern while skating on our freestyle sessions.  CLICK HERE to see the traffic pattern diagram that we follow.

The Ice Centre will periodically send out emails regarding our figure skating program.  If you are currently not on our email list and would like to be included, please email us at icefrontdesk@hylandhills.org and we will get you added.

Fall Figure Skating Schedule

We are currently on our Fall Figure Skating Schedule and we will be on this schedule from Tuesday, September 8th – Saturday, December 19th.  Please note that we have adjusted dates listed on the schedule where we will need to follow a different schedule and we will post schedules for those dates as they are available under the Fall Adjusted Schedules section.

Fall Adjusted Figure Skating Schedules

Throughout the fall, we will need to follow an adjusted schedule on some dates to accommodate our rink schedule and those dates are noted on the Fall Figure Skating Schedule.

The next adjusted dates will be Friday, October 16th – Saturday, October 17th (Hockey Tournament) and that schedule is now available and listed below.

The next adjusted dates coming up after these will be Monday, October 26th (Sectional Skaters/Halloween Exhibition – change in Blue Rink afternoon schedule only) and then Friday, October 30th (Hockey Tournament) and we will post that schedule as soon as it is available.

Registration

  • We will post 1-2 weeks at a time on the registration page and all sessions will remain available for purchase up until the start of the session.

  • Please note that with offering all these different session types and lengths, skaters will have to select the different options from the registration site that fits their skating level.

  • Skaters who reside within the Hyland Hills Park and Recreation District or the City of Westminster are eligible to receive a discounted rate and it will automatically give you the discount when you register online if your address qualifies.

  • New Registration Site coming July 27th!  All households will need to create a new account.  When creating a new online account, please use parent/guardian’s information and then add family members/skaters to your account.

  • Effective Tuesday, September 8th: There will be a $.50 price increase on our figure skating sessions for in-person payments.  There will be no change in price for registering online.

*** Skaters interested in dropping in for the Rocky Mountain Figure Skating Academy Aspire Program – Register below and select “RMFSA Class Drop-in” from the selection of sessions or you can pay at the front desk prior to getting on the ice.

Sectional Skaters/Halloween Exhibition

  • In helping our skaters who will be qualifying for the upcoming Midwestern Sectionals as well as give our other skaters who skate on our freestyle sessions an opportunity to perform a Halloween program, we are doing a Sectional Skaters/Halloween Exhibition again this year.

  • The exhibition is set for Monday, October 26th from around 3:30pm – 5:45pm on the Blue Rink in place of the regular freestyle sessions.  Sectional Skaters will perform first in their groups then once those are done, we will then do the Halloween programs which we anticipate should begin around 4:15pm.

  • Space is limited so only one program per skaters whether it be a solo, duet or trio performance (no groups larger than trio) and Halloween programs are NOT to exceed 1 minute and 30 seconds in length.

  • Registration will open Tuesday, September 29th at 10:00am for skaters who are interested in performing a Halloween program for this exhibition. The cost is $12.75 to book a spot and all skaters must register online using the link below.  Sectional Skaters will just sign up in person at the front desk once they know they qualified for the upcoming Midwestern Sectionals and would like to do the exhibition.
