What to Expect?
Each athlete will be assigned a level appropriate track for their on-ice curriculum. Our expert staff of coaches will introduce skaters to new skills, technique in spinning and jumping, and so much more!
Why Join?
The RMFSA Aspire Program is a figure skating bridge program that offers athletes a cost-effective way to enter into the world of competitive figure skating. Our training system transitions our newer athletes into a comprehensive training system, while remaining in a fun, team-empowered environment. Our competition team level will offer in-depth curriculum designed to focus on IJS fundamentals and technique.
Who Can Join?
The RMFSA Aspire Program is open to all figure skating levels starting at Basic 4 and who are under the age of 18 years old (skaters may also be invited by the Director).
When we are offering the RMFSA Adult Aspire Program, it is open to Adult level 2 skaters and up.
Aspire Program Curriculum
Bridge Level Classes
(Basic 4, Basic 5, Basic 6 & Pre-Free Skate)
- Jumps: Waltz Jump, salchow, toe loop
- Spins: Forward scratch spin, backward scratch spin, sit spin
- Skating Skills: Foundations of power & edges
- Artistry: Movement exploration, improvisation, rhythm basics
Junior Competitive Level Classes
(Free Skate 1-6)
- Jumps: Salchow, toe loop, loop jump, flip, single combination jumps, lutz intro, axel intro
- Spins: Sit spin, camel, layback intro, combination spins, back spin, back sit spin
- Skating Skills: Foundations of power & edges, edge & turn technique
- Artistry: Program fundamentals, movement exploration, rhythm & flow
Competition Team Level Classes
(Pre-Preliminary and up)
- Jumps: Axel mastery, double salchow, double toe loop, double loop, double flip, double lutz, double combinations
- Spins: Difficult flying entry, difficult variations
- Skating Skills: Foundations of power & edges, edge & turn technique
- Artistry: Character and theme development, intro to program components, performance refinement
NEW! ADULT ASPIRE CLASSES
(Adult level 2 and up)
Please note: The adult aspire program classes are offered separate of the regular aspire program and it will only be offered in the Summer.
The adult aspire curriculum is designed for both beginning and experienced adult skaters who wish to improve their skating skills.
Participation in the program will help promote physical fitness and improve balance and coordination while teaching proper skating techniques.
This is an exciting program for people who look to skating as an enjoyable part of their lifestyle.
Aspire Sessions
The RMFSA Aspire Program will offer classes throughout the year. The Adult Aspire Program will only be offered in the Summer. Can’t commit to a whole session? Skaters are welcome to drop-in for a class!
The cost to drop-in is $24.00 and you will just pay that at the front desk prior to getting on the ice or you can pay online here (Just select “RMFSA Class Drop-In” or “RMFSA Adult Class Drop-in” under the select session type).

Aspire Program Staff
Robyn Sudkamp
Learn to Skate Director and Rocky Mountain Figure Skating Academy Director. Coached pairs at the National level. Sectional Junior Pair and Novice Ladies Competitor, National Novice Pair Bronze Medalist. Over 15 years of experience as a principal performer in both singles and pairs.
Lindsey Bowers
USFS Gold Medalist in Moves in the Field, Professional Skating Association (PSA) and Rocky Mountain Figure Skating Club Member, and former U.S. Regional Competitor.
