Competitive Figure Skating Program and Private Lessons Schedule Information

The Ice Centre is offering a figure skating schedule that we feel will accommodate all of our figure skaters.

We have level based sessions as well as the more open level sessions and there will be both 45 minute and 60 minute session lengths. Please see our current figure skating schedule below to see all the available figure skating sessions.  The cost for a 45-minute session is $10.25 and a 60-minute session is $12.75.

All skaters will register for the available sessions online.

All skaters must have their own figure skates and be in figure skating attire.

For the safety of all of our skaters, we ask that skaters follow a freestyle traffic pattern while skating on our freestyle sessions.  CLICK HERE to see the traffic pattern diagram that we follow.

The Ice Centre will periodically send out emails regarding our figure skating program.  If you are currently not on our email list and would like to be included, please email us at icefrontdesk@hylandhills.org and we will get you added.

Fall Figure Skating Schedule

We are now on our Fall Figure Skating Schedule and we will follow this schedule through December 21st with adjusted dates throughout and those dates are all noted on the schedule.

***Figure Skating Sessions – During the school year, we recommend skaters interested in skating on the later sessions in the afternoons to register ONLINE early to guarantee their spot on those sessions.  These sessions may sell out and we may have to turn away skaters once we hit the 25 skater limit.

Fall Adjusted Figure Skating Schedules

Throughout the fall, we will be following adjusted figure skating schedules on some dates to accommodate our rink schedule and those dates are all noted on the fall schedule.

The next adjusted day coming up is Friday, November 8th (rescheduled RMFSC Test Session) and the morning sessions will be the only sessions affected on this day and the sessions that will be available is listed below.  There is no change to the afternoon sessions, so those will run as normal.  The next adjusted days after this one will be Monday, November 25th – Saturday, November 30th (Thanksgiving week) and we will post that schedule as soon as we have it available.

Registration

  • We will post two weeks at a time on the registration page and all sessions will remain available for purchase up until the start of the session.
  • Please note that with offering all these different session types and lengths, skaters will have to select the different options from the drop down menu to see what is all available for each session type and length throughout the week.
  • It will default to only showing one session type at a time.

  • Be sure to select your session type – on the registration page, please make sure to use the drop down menu under “Select Session Type” to see all the available sessions for purchase.

  • When creating a new online account, please use parent/guardian’s information and then add family members/skaters to your account.

*** Skaters interested in dropping in for the Rocky Mountain Figure Skating Academy Aspire Program – Register below and select “RMFSA Class Drop-in” from the select session type menu or you can pay at the front desk on Saturday prior to getting on the ice.

Resident Pricing Information

The Ice Centre at the Promenade is part of the Hyland Hills Park and Recreation District family of facilities. Skaters who reside within the Hyland Hills Park and Recreation District or the City of Westminster are eligible to receive discounted rates on some of our programming here at the Ice Centre. We are now ready to implement resident discount pricing on our figure skating freestyle sessions.

Holiday on Ice Exhibition Information

Our annual Holiday on Ice Exhibition is set for Friday, December 20th from 3:45pm-5:45pm!  All figure skaters who skate on our figure skating freestyle sessions are welcome to perform a solo, duet or trio performance (no groups larger than trio) at this upcoming exhibition.  Skaters will be responsible for their own music, choreography and costumes.  In an effort to make sure ALL skaters have an opportunity to perform that would like to, we are limiting skaters to one (1) program initially (whether it be a solo, duet or trio) and the performance must be around 1 minute and 30 seconds.  Music programs that are longer than 2 minutes will be asked to be re-cut to fit within these parameters.  There are a set number of spots available from 4:00pm-5:45pm and once those spots are filled, we will open additional spots starting at 3:45pm……..make sure to register early!  Once registration is open for a full week, any skaters who wish to possibly do a secondary performance may reach out to the front desk to confirm availability.

Skaters will select from the options, “4:00pm-4:30pm”, “4:30pm-5:00pm” or “5:00pm-5:45pm” and only one payment is needed for skaters who are doing a duet or trio.  Cost:  $12.75
